Does Britney Spears Have What It Takes For A Comeback?

The media has already cast their votes after Spears apparently bombed her performance at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. Britney was the kick-off performance for this year's show filmed in Las Vegas. Her hope was to gain attention for her upcoming new album.
What the media saw as pathetic, I see as promising. I know I have always been one of her biggest critics, but give her a break. It is so easy to cast stones when we are not the one on stage.
I say put any woman in that get up after they have had a baby and I think you would get the same result. That was ridiculous. A bikini type outfit, high heel boots and men all over dancing-who could dance in that get up.
As for her performance, she looked understandably nervous. You have all those peers rolling their eyes in the audience. Most likely out of jealousy and pity. You have a media that has been reporting horrible things about you for months and you are suppose to not be nervous?
She is young. She has gone through a ton over the last few months trying to get cleaned up, going through a divorce, her self-image attacked over and over again, trying to keep custody of her kids-stuff most older adults never have to go through.
I wonder what PR exec from hell decided that she should look like that on that stage. My advice to Britney is to give up the bad girl image. From the looks of it you are not comfortable in that position. You have a talented voice and the look. Don't let them make a fool of you.
How many moms wear the high heel boots? And for those ridiculing her dancing as lethargic, you get up their with a self-conscience body image and dance in that outfit.
As for the performance, I watched it only to notice my two and a half year old covering her eyes because she knew it was inappropriate. I think Britney felt the same. Don't let the same thing happen twice. Use your talent, but be comfortable in everything you do.
