November is traditionally known as the I Am So Thankful Month. With the celebration of Thanksgiving, it is traditional to count your blessings and share your thankfulness.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Start now as a family spending time counting your blessings and showing your thankfulness.

Cook a Meal
One easy activity to do as a family is to cook a meal for someone as encouragement or for someone in need. There is nothing more comforting to receive a meal as a gift. As a mom and a teacher, one of the best gifts I ever received from a student was a dinner for my family. Just not having to cook was such a sweet gift. We should all be thankful that God provides our food for us and we should share it with others. I have a couple on my street that are older and children live far away. A meal for them would sure brighten their day. Look around for someone in need. Someone who is sick, a new mom, go to a homeless shelter, just share your thankfulness of nourishment.

Make a card
Do you have someone special in your life? Tell them how thankful you are for them. Create cards as a family to give. It could be your child's teacher. After all, he or she spends just as much time with your child as you do. It could be a mentor or your pastor. Make a list of reasons why you are thankful for them and give it to them as encouragement.

Do a good deed
Help someone out anonymously as a family. Know someone going out of town? Sneak over and do their yardwork while they are gone. Better yet, do your family members chores for them as a surprise. Let someone in the traffic line at school. Offer to pick up their children.

Share Your Gratitude
During family dinner, take turns sharing what you are most thankful for this year or even that day. You might be surprised at the things your children and even your husband are most grateful for at the time.

Give Praise
Give praise where it is due. It may mean going to church and praising God through music and worship. It may be getting on your knees and thanking God for all the good in your life. It may be encouraging your husband, kids or extended family member. Tell someone you love them and are thankful for them.

November has already started so get on the ball letting those around you see how thankful you are for life. These are some simple low-cost ideas to get you on your way. Get started now because Thanksgiving will be gone before you know it.
