Father's Day is just around the corner so now is the time to start on personalized projects that will surely excite dad. There is nothing kids love more then helping out with gifts for dad. Here are a few ideas for this holiday.

Photo Books

Photo books are my favorite invention. Every online photo storage place sells them and they can be as creative as you want to be. I suggest doing a theme or title such as Our Time With Dad or Memories with Dad. Essentially, you are making a hardback book that dad can keep throughout the years to remember times spent together.

Plan before doing: sit with your kids and sort through pictures that you want included in the book. Be sure to include those cute baby pics with dad. Then go to any picture site: walmart, snapfish, shutterfly or even walgreens. Pick out a cover design and book style. You can even scan in some art work of your children such as a hand drawn picture of your child with dad.

Story Book

If your children are creative and love to write, a storybook for dad is a great present. Children can write about a special trip with their dad, why they love their dad, a fiction story about an adventure, etc. Then they can upload their own illustrations that dad is sure to love. A great site to get it published is www.tikatok.com

Stepping Stones

If dad is the type of individual who loves spending time in the yard, a personalized stepping stone may be a fun gift to make. There are kits in craft stores. Or you can visit the lake or area for rocks. Then have the kids paint designs on the rocks for dad. You can even write the saying, "Dad, you Rock!" on the stones.

Coffee mugs

This is probably the gift that my kids loved doing the most. There are different variations to this gift depending on the skill level of your child. The mug we made was bought a Starbucks. It had an inside sleeve that you can take out and decorate. We decorated with pictures and colorings and put it back inside. There are kits at the local craft store as well as photo sites that lets you upload pictures to create your mug. You can even include a gift card to the local coffee place.

Tattoo

I know it is far from traditional, but sometimes dads are not traditional. If your dad is into tattoos, a gift certificate might be the perfect personalized gift. You can also have a design you made or your name or picture drawn up by the artist to include with the certificate.

These are just a few suggestions. You know the dad in your life the best. The trick to making personalized gifts a success is early planning. Get started now to make this Father's Day exciting!
