Back to school is a fun and stressful time all rolled into one. Be sure to start this year off right showing your teacher just how much you appreciate her hard work and commitment as well ease the first day tensions.
It does not have to be extravagant or expensive, but instead just a simple gift to start the year off right and encourage your new teacher. Here are some simple suggestions of things to include in your welcome pack. I usually buy a cute basket or decorative gift bag and pick a few items from the list below depending on my theme for the year.
Muffins are something simple that your children can help make with you for their new teacher. Include on your note, "Muffins-for that extra energy boost or the mid-morning snack that gets you through!"
Candy bar
I usually pick from one of three candy bars. I might put a Twix with a note that says, For the teacher who knows all the Twixs in the book. I might pick a Snicker with the note, For the teacher when she has nothing else to do but Snicker. A Hershey Bar to give the teacher a smile. Hugs so she knows she is loved.
Comfy socks
I often times will do a spa/relaxation type theme. I will include Comfy soft socks or slippers "to relax your feet after standing on them all day." You can also include a foot rub from the dollar bin.
Drink
I try and find out before the first day which drink is the teachers weakness. last year, my son's teacher loved Mountain Dews. You can pick up some hot tea for relaxation. Coffee drink for extra energy. Water for dehydration from talking all day.
Lotions
I used to include hand lotion with a note about how for when using the chalk had dried her hands out, but teachers never use chalk anymore. You can substitute "For handling papers all day."
These are just a few suggestions. The point is to get creative and just do a little something to make the teacher feel special and encourage him/her that first day.
The possibilities are endless and can even be something more simple such as an apple for "The Most Appeeling Teacher." Have a great first day!
